Why apply
If you:
- Are an undergraduate, currently enrolled in a four-year U.S. institution
- Are of at least 18 years of age
- Have a proven interest in developmental issues, in studying or researching abroad
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
- Are in good health
Then you have the chance to be one of the many students selected to receive a fellowship to help fund your experience in the developing world.
The purpose of the grant:
- To help fund research efforts in foreign, developing countries
- To help support a student's desire to become involved with developmental efforts in a given country (volunteering with NGO's or non-paid governmental assistance)
- To help students narrow their international interests or expose them to a new field
- To fund the often expensive travel, room, and boarding expenses incurred by students seeking such an experience
The grant is not for remunerating salaries, travel expenses outside of the student's proposed research, or for any expenditures not outlined in the student's application.
